DW-5000C je originalni G-Shock model iz 1983. Serija GMW-B5000 naslijedila je njegov karakteristični kvadratni dizajn i dobila je potpuno metalnu obradu zajedno s nadograđenim značajkama, uključujući povezivanje sa pametnim telefonima.
Sat je dobio potpuno metalno kućište korištenjem udarno otpornog finog smolnog materijala za amortizaciju umetnutog između kućišta i čvrstog metalnog okvira od nehrđajućeg čelika. Tehnologija visoke gustoće montaže također omogućava satu da zadrži svoju veličinu. Stražnji dio sata ima čvrsti poklopac s vijcima koji je DLC obrađen za otpornost na habanje. Ružičasto zlatna ionska obloga nanesena je na cijelo kućište i narukvicu za prekrasnu boju. Vidljivost je također poboljšana korištenjem solarne ćelije u obliku filma i STN-LCD-a (tekući kristal).
Što se tiče funkcionalnosti, ovaj model dolazi s Bluetooth® komunikacijom i može se povezati s namjenskom aplikacijom za dobivanje preciznih vremenskih informacija. Sat je također opremljen praktičnim značajkama uključujući sustav korekcije vremena koji koristi standardne vremenske i frekvencijske signale (Multi-Band 6), pouzdani izvor napajanja u obliku Tough Solar tehnologije, visokosvjetleće Full Auto LED pozadinsko osvjetljenje, World Time i prikaz dana u tjednu na šest jezika.
Ovo je G-Shock model koji ostaje vjeran svom prethodniku, dok je dodatno rafiniran primjenom potpuno metalnog dizajna.
